On a cold Saturday morning in February, Dematra took delivery of 5 new Mercedes Actros.

"The year 2020 is probably not going to be easily forgotten by anyone" spoke Geert Dejaeger, CEO of Dematra from Deinze. There was almost only one news event that completely dominated the past year: the Corona pandemic.

The logistics sector, merchants and the City of Mechelen signed a covenant "sustainable and efficient city logistics" on Friday. The eight-point plan lists agreements and concrete actions. It targets city distribution with zero emissions by 2030.

Dematra, specializing in Dedicated Warehousing & Distribution from Nazareth, is an upscale family business that has been diligently providing fine-mesh distribution within the Benelux since 1976.

Logistics service provider Dematra N.V. (Nazareth) has purchased a 35,390 m² plot of land from intermunicipal company Veneco in the expansion zone of the "De Prijkels" business park. The intention is to accommodate the existing logistics activities of the Waregem site and to attract new customers, both within the food and non-food sector. Discussions with candidate customers are currently in progress.
